Independence Day weekend brought beautiful weather and exceptional fishing to the waters of Key West. We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming several fantastic groups aboard the Magic, including the families of Taylor, Shawn, and Matthew, alongside the Suarez family—Robert, Giana, and Alex. It was a wonderful holiday celebration filled with great company, cooperative weather, and steady activity on the lines that kept everyone engaged from start to finish. The local patch reefs and deeper structures were incredibly productive, providing our guests with plenty of opportunities to test their skills and bring home excellent table fare. Captain Barry utilized his decades of local knowledge to position the vessel right over the most active spots, ensuring a successful day for both the seasoned anglers and the younger family members on board. Here is a quick look at the top catches from the holiday weekend: Yellowtail Snapper: High numbers of these prized fish were found near the reef edges, offering consistent action and great fun for the families. Mutton Snapper: Several quality Muttons were brought over the rail, providing a solid challenge for the anglers. Grouper: Strong bottom-dwellers that added some great size and variety to the day's catch. Assorted Reef Fish: A diverse mix of local species kept the rods bending and gave the kids a hands-on look at the vibrant marine ecosystem of the Florida Keys. The trips took place aboard our 42-foot Hatteras, the Magic, which provided a smooth, stable platform for all the holiday festivities. With a fully air-conditioned salon to cool off in and plenty of shaded deck space, the summer heat was never a factor. It was an honor to host these families for their 4th of July celebration, creating lasting memories on the water while showcasing the very best of Key West’s world-class reef fishery.

Rampage Magic Friday Fishing Charter welcomed Micneile Barth, Natalie Page, Alex Cozletl, Rachel Griaan Jeavnhe Pavelka, Billy Tichener,& William for a busy day on the calm waters near Key West. The inshore waters around Key West are fishing well this week aboard Magic. Guests have been landing a mix of snapper, jack crevalle, hogfish, and cobia along protected flats and mangrove edges. Calm conditions and smooth inland routes have made it ideal for both families and first-timers. Our patient captain and hands-on help ensured every guest got to experience the action, whether spinning, trolling, or bottom fishing. Live bait and tackle are provided, and lines-in is quick thanks to short runs from the dock. Expect catches of barracuda, amberjack, and rays as well, with local regulations in mind.
